Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Woah~
Today's the last day of freedom.
Technically Speaking.
Since in 2 days time,
We are going to Junior College!
So excited
But So Nervous
What will orientation be like?
And MOE People love to kill people.
They can let people let me
Worry for few hundreds of day
Heart Attack man~
*Crosses Fingers*

***

Finally, I am getting a little exercise through the holidays.
Today Was At the Pool
Again.
Well,
Swimming is far better than Soccer
Or Basketball.
Oh Well.
Swam 52 laps!!! OMG.
Finally have the strength to cover.
(FYI: 1 Lap=50m, 52 laps = 2.6km)
Even if it took me
2 hours.
Haha!
Slacking by the pool with Leonard.

***

Went with Keller to buy my new bag.
Cost me 199.
But I like it.
So it's fine.
But definitely people will not like it.
Haha.
"Unique" Taste.
Then we went shopping around Ion Orchard.
ICE CREAM BUFFET!!!
OMG.
My
Stomach
Literally
Bursted.
So many thousand of things.
All for the price of $12.90 (I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza Before hand)
Got fondue, cakes, waffles, all sorts of toppings, all sorts of ice cream...
So worth it!
Pity I could only eat so much.
Can't really bear to see anything sweet now.
Haha.

***

Some people know which schools they are going to already.
Schools have started calling.
We are waiting for that 8am SMS.
Scary~

***

On my way back,
saw this super LC lady
trimming her nails
on the MRT!
OMG.

***

I must be idiotic
to worry about orientation.

***

Today, I went Bras Basah.
Again.
It's becoming one of my favourite spots.
Haha.
How "surprising" =D.
Went there with Tan Sally.
Then we started to look through the chaotic stacks of books.
Then I found 4 books.
And paid $51.
Haha, it was all worth it.
About History and Economics.
Ya, I'm Kiasu.
Then we walked around at Bugis Junction and Raffles City
Searching for a new school bag
For me.
I found this bag,
Which was kinda nice
Costing $199 *Gasp*.
From Crumpler.
I'm going to buy it anyway!
Haha.
Then we saw this book,
at Borders
Called
The Coxford Singlish Dictionary.
Damn Funny!
We looked like retards giggling away there.
Lol!
Chicken McNuggets can become "Meh Negets"
Haha.

***

=D
OMG,
School's reopening
In
2 Days!!!
So anxious
And Scared
About Orientation...

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Damn Infuriated today.
And it's just not the anger mounting within me.
It's the disappointment.
Someone who I respected (which is why I will not name names)
(And whom I told I wanted to pursue History)
Told me that History was a crap subject.
...
Not surprised,
since he told me that
the only job I could pursue
was a curator.
Come on!
Fine, he is successful in his own field (which I will name)
but it's not how one should put another field down.
History is pursued by passion.
People are driven by their love to take such a subject.
It is true that the future looks bleak.
But who can say they are taking something they really enjoy?
Which reminds me.
His field is full of people
who hate their jobs.
The tiring and boring and horribly mundane
9 to 5 job
with the routine and schedules
How fruitful can their jobs be?
They hate it
and only love what riches the job will bring to them.
The power when with rich people.
But what kind of lifestyle is that?
Hypocritical?
Well, what to do?
He is afterall someone I respect.
So I shan't rant anymore.

Shawn ends this post.
Disappointed.
=(

***

FYI: I want to be a educator/teacher.
Surprised?

angel&devil.
1/23/2010 10:48:00 AM

Woah.
I'm updating everyday.
Today went swimming with Leonard.
He was a good swimmer.
And so happen that it was raining
so everyone left
leaving just me and him
in the pool.
Haha.
Fun though!
I swam 1.6km today.
Hopefully, it will burn off something.
=D

***

Argh!
Went for BBQ!
OMG.
That means this morning
WASTED.
Lol.
Haha.
Nevermind.
It was damn fun man~
Since the pics are on facebook,
I'll post them someday!

Thursday, January 21, 2010

OMG, I had so much fun today!

Finally fulfilled the promised to Tan Sally to go to East Coast Park to cycle.
We were discussing with Keller in the morning about the party tomorrow.
Then Sally and I had already planned this.
And she insisted only TWO people.
So awkward and ps to Keller...

***

Anyway, we left to continue with our long and arduous journey to the East.
Super long trip to this almost "ulu" place.
Cycling cycling cycling
Can't believe I decided to do this!
After like a hiatus of a month of intense exercise.
We also decided to take a picture at every zone!
So tada!
Here they are!
From C, we cycled all the way
to the site of the hellish sec 2 camp
and took a picture.
Looks like a prison.
Lol.
I'm biased.

***
Anyway, there's this bubble tea shop in Marine Parade
Super super super good
Go try!!!

***
Then on our return trip, she treated me ice cream (Compass point B1).
Thanks Sally for the delicious treat!
(Haha, in exchange for my treat.)
However, still damn PS leh...

And we saw two aunties in the arcade
playing the sweet thingy.
OMG.
Bags of sweets, tidbits and toys.
Woah, now the aunties also like to go arcade.
:O

***

So today was
A wonderful day!
Now I am Damn happy!
=)
And looking forward to tomorrow!
Time to cut some slack before the school term starts!
Finally going to see all the "long-lost" friends!
And going to swimming with leonard!
Finally can cut down some weight!
=D

Shawn ends this post jubilant!

***

NOTE BEFORE POST: Hang Siang is planning to go visit Ms Fernandez (next Wednesday but not confirmed). I suppose after getting your distinctions, it's probably great to visit her.
Talk to Hang Siang if you want to see her.
And also tell her the school you will be going.

***

Haha, yesterday was awesome~ Nobel and I bought some chocolates for the teachers, so we went around to give it to the coolest and awesome-most teachers ever!
It was all worth it.
Haha, looking at how happy the teachers were, I suppose it was all worth it! XD
I suppose appreciation may come in different ways.
However, it's always good to go give thanks
to the super duper awesome-mess teachers!

***
FYI:
Ms Lucy Fernandez
42 going on 43 only. =)
President Teachers' Awardee

***

Then we thought:
OMG. Ms Fernandez and Ms Thian.
Haha, we actually went all the way to Jurong (National Institute of Education)!
Cool~
Nobel, moi, Joseph and Leonard set off at like 0950.
Then we reached Boon Lay at 1130.
Haha, reminds me of what Ms Fernandez was telling me.
"Isn't ntu like damn far from where you are"
"Nowhere is far in Singapore"
"Haha, funny boys"
Reminds me of our days in Catholic High School when she was teaching us.
The best teacher
Who won the President Teachers Award.
Yay!
Then we were like totally lost in NIE.
Block 3.
Then we discovered that Ms Fernandez was in Block 2!
We climbed this super-duper ____ing long stairs.
110 steps (Not 103, Ms Fernandez! Haha. We counted it!)

***

We met her shortly after getting lost.
She let us to her new office.
Beat that: OFFICE.
Not space.
COOL~
Catholic High teachers will be super duper envious.
Then Nobel was making comments about the length of the names.
Something about getting the PTA allows you to get a longer print outside the room.
Lol.
We gave her the present
and Joseph and Leonard gave her the donuts they bought for her.
Which she knocked on everyone's door and offered one.
Nice right?
Ya, that's Ms Fernandez for you.
A totally awesome teacher.
Then, we noticed that
Leonard's aunty
Mdm Sally Jones (I still remember the name)
Was actually a neighbour of Ms Fernandez in NTU.
Talk about coincidence!
***

We walked to the cantten in NTU, where there was Macdonalds, Subway, Old Chang Kee, Sakae Sushi, etc.
Gosh~
Breathtaking.
She treated us to Macdonalds and Canadian Pizza.
Thanks! =)
Then we started to have a long chat about what is changing in our lives.
Like the teachers, and all the gossips.
Haha, Ms Fernandez is still having all her "coffee breaks" and gossip sessions with the other peeps.

***

We bidded goodbye to her shortly.
Saddening, but she still has her reading and work.
Haha, so different from Catholic High.
Then we walked to the bookstore.
The super duper cool bookstore.
With super duper cool books.
Haha,
That's where I'm going to be when I grow up anyway.
So Ms Fernandez
Who is teaching curriculum
is going to teach me
soon!
Hooray~
Remember me!
Haha.

***

Adios!

***

I've passed Ms Thian's Present to Ms Fernandez.
>.< (This is to Nobel. Haha) Nobel! Send me the photos! =) Joseph too! =)
***

Once again, thanks to every single teacher for teaching me!

OMG.

City hall is ____ing crowded.

I was like on the MRT

Then suddenly got this old lady just cut into the crowd and like so rudely, and abruptly!

Irritating!

____!

Oh ya, I was like contemplating about the Reserved Seat thingy.

Kinda ____, that people avoid that seat and sits on the next seat.

Is that the whole point?

The point is that the reserved seat is meant for the person to be more aware and let his/her seat to the elderly/the people who neeed it.

Come on.

What's the point of it?

Anyway, love Ben and Jerry's Ice cream.

Haha.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Hmm thus morning was totally hectic for me.
At 12 pm, I was talking to duogeng and nobel about where to go.
Oh my god, we spent like 1 hour just coming with a place.
Lol.
Then we decide to go to Udders at Novena for ice cream. (OMG, I'm growing super fat now)
Then I decided to go see Ms Lie (My Physics Teacher) to say thanks before going.
I timed it nicely.
IRIS: 9 Minutes till 163 arrives.
Okay. I have 9 minutes. I said goodbye, shut my comp, and leave.
I was in the lift.
Then a thought went through my mind.
____, I forgot to bring the two storybooks (one was overdue!)
Gonna screw up the timing.
I decided to rush up. Still got time.
I forgot I've got the keys, and rang the doorbell frantically.
No one came to the door.
I was like: OMG, open the door.
I forgot I got the keys.
I totally screwed it all up.
I ran/walk to the busstop to wait.
Luckily, I was only late for a minute.
I was like thinking: Lucky me~ Almost missed the bus.
10 Minutes passed.
Oh ____, I missed the bus.
I was like cursing for the bus to come. (Of course, it wansn't its fault.)
I was like damn frantic on this hectic day.
The bus arrived, and thank god everything then on ran smoothly.
Luckily.
The ice cream - not too bad!
Price was reasonable too!
Just that I didn't really like the chocolate one - the aftertaste was bitter~ bleh~
We then walked all around United Square.
Gossiping.
About _____ ___ __ and ____.
Well, there're some things I have to censor off.
Went to bishan's arcade.
Played daytona. (Woots~ technically speaking won to dogen but lost to nobel~)
Played mario karts (Which FYI was this game that the car was out of control even when it's not!)
Played the basketball game (OMG, First time reach 520! >.<) Meeting Nobel tomorrow to get some gifts for the teachers. Bye!

Oh yeah~
Finally got the results that kept me thinking for over the past 2 months!
Not too bad!
8 A1s
1 A2 (=( english)
1 B3 ( Chemistry - however that's my best ever...lol - Surprised?)
So I'm happy!
Let's Celebrate!
Lol.
For those who didn't reach their expectations, don't be disappointed.
This is just a small step to success.
It depends on yourself.
No matter what school you are, you still have the chance to be successful!
So 'Jia You'!

Sequel
Heard that the O level results are being released on 11th January 2009.
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_474125.html.
It's confirmed.
At 2pm.
Nerve-wrecking.
However, my uncle told me not to take it into heart regarding the results.
I mean, he's an epitome of success, or that's what I think of him.
My parents have been encouraging too =).
So I'm don't really mind about it now. (Actually I do. XP)
Took me long enough, haha.
Although going to a very good school due to my very good results will be awesome.
(I know, it's kind of ironic.)
However, shan't think about it for now.

Didn't really spend much of my holidays resting... or to the least its not that memorable.
Besides my grandfather's death, my uncle's wedding, and my internship, hmm... fine, it was kinda memorable, in both good and bad ways.

This is my 29th Post.
Aiming to be Guinness World Record for Longest Blog Post Ever.
Haha.
Then I saw Tan Sally ranting on her blog about the Broccoli Lady.
And It was super long.
Oh Well.

P.S
Pics will be uploaded soon!
Font is second largest, since I've just noticed that my blog post can't really be read.
2904 Words. Yeah~!

7th January
Finally finished my internship at 11.oo AM (99 hours left).
Quite sad to leave this haven where the people are super nice to me, like Ivy, Yumei, Daphne, Herry, Geraldine, Kevin and my uncle.
Although I must say that it is quite a relief to get my Powerpoint completed and everything done, and I will definitely not miss waking up at 6.45 AM each morning, taking the super congested MRT and LRT.
I've completed something 2009/2010!

Oh My God.
Ellen Degeneres, Taylor Swift and The Proposal + Sandra Bullock Won People's Choice Awards 2010!
Congratulations!

My Very First Paycheck Is In My Hands!
Awesome~

6th Janaury 2010
Kinda like my idea of continuously writing on a same post and just click edit post.
Save me the trouble of thinking of a title.

Today marks the 2nd last day of work.
Kind of memorable and will miss it.

Although I won't miss that super tiring and boring long ride all the way to River Valley.
The nicest colleagues, the best boss, and a good paycheck, what more can I ask for?

I just noticed Santa didn't come to Singapore.
Lol.
Can't believe someone will actually track Santa.

http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/this_urban_jungle/297072/website_says_santa_did_not_stop_in_spore.html
Who can hate STOMP?
I love STOMP!
With all that juicy and scandalous news, although some are just plain crap, (like kissing in public and so on)...it just makes me feel so happy.
Make me feel less of a nutcase.
Well, to the least, people are wilder there.
Haha.

Anyway, since I have written this on Facebook before, I'll just copy it here and edit some details.
I would like to thank

Ms Lucy Fernandez, for all her guidance and her unwavering support to us. Also, bringing English back to life for us.
I'll always remember you and your quotable quotes!
Thanks for everything!!!!

Ms Chow, for without her help in Maths and A Maths, A1 would seem difficult to acheive.. and her encouragement to us!!! =D

Ms Thian, for everything you thought us for Social Studies, all the skills, the SBQ practices, for the painstakingly compiled notes, and for being such a caring teacher!!!!

Ms Saras, for being such a great Form Teacher (and biology teacher)!
For being such a great CCA Teacher in Charge!!!!
For being there when our class needs help!
I'll always remember you!!!
(haha.. and of course the only teacher who has placed me in detention before).

Ms Tan Lee Choo, for igniting the love of Geography within us.
For showing care and affection towards us.
And helping us plan ahead.

Mrs Pang, (FYI it wasn't me who wrote in to complain!) for helping my geography! (my first .. and only 25/25 script)

Mdm Wong Mui Lin, who taught me for a small period of time, and was a great help for my chinese!

Ms Winnie Tan, for all the help.

Mdm Liu Fang!
For being such a great sport during HMT, even when some of the people in class seemed unreceptive towards your love and passion for chinese, you remained so confident of us acheiving fab results, and igniting the love for chinese within us!!

and..

Ms Krishnan!!! For her knowledge in History which never seems to end, for her dedication and hardwork, and for all the laughs and joy in class!
History never seemed so fun, until you came!
So thanks alot!!!!!!!! =)

Mr Quay, for everything you taught us... and of course the ESAD theory.. plus all the biscuits and the remedials.

Mr Tan Jit Huih, although my chemistry is still mysteriously foreign to me, your help and support never seem to end!
Thanks!
I appreciate everthing!

Mr Krishnan Pillay, where he has always shown his belief and trust in all of us to do exceptionally well in History, and everything you did for us .
(I'll never forget what fun we had in the ACJC symposium)......
Thanks!

Mr Goh KP, who taught us for only 2 terms - term 1 and 3 - for both geog and hist - thanks!

Mr Daniel Yong, for everything you taught us for Geography, we'll still remember them!

Mr Liu Chang Yu!
"反驳段这样写,不如不要写" and "不理想" has always pushed me to the maximum to help me attain the maximum in chinese!
Thanks!

And not to forget these teachers,

Ms Leong SY (Mrs Ng now), for all the teachings and scoldings and for being such a good FT!

Ms Davora Lim, for the fun home economic lessons and being such a good CCA teacher for the first half of my secondary life!

Mrs Pearl Tham, whose sarcasm never failed to crack me up, and who helped me in the field of English.

Mr Fourier Ang, for all the monster worksheets, and all the never-passable class test, to push us all the way!

Mr Sebastian Ong and Mr Ting Seng Eng, who have left school, but still helped me in my sciences.
(and especially TSE, who helped in the TYF incident!)

Mr Ng Wei Liang, for being such a great physics teacher in lower secondary!
(and helping me achieve an A1 for physics!)

Mrs Oh Wee Ming, for all geography knowledge and inculcating within us the love for it!

Ms Govin of course, who helped us improve in our speed of note taking.

Mr Chris Teng, for making the mudane D&T into something much more fun!

Ms Saras (again.. for secondary 1 science) I still remember the vertebrate-invertebrate test you gave us on the first lesson!

Mrs Ling.. Although only being 1 year of teacher-in-charge, you still did a lot and thanks!

and...

Mdm Chia and the Librarian, for making things in school so much efficient and making my stay in Catholic High more enjoyable!

and...

Mr Kelvin Ng, for his help in building up my confidence in A Maths!

Mr Melvin Ng, for his help in building up my foundation in Mathematics!

Mrs Angie Lie, for her help in building up love and passion for Physics, otherwise I would still be hating Physics and continue to be bad in it!

Mr Billy Maya, though I didn't join him long, his continuous support and lessons helped to pave a way to improve my English!

Also, to 4-2... the class I'll always remember! =D

Like Hang Siang, who I have to write here, having revered himself as "God".

Ling Kang, who loves to make people's life miserable, but still fun to be with.
Lovable but hatable too.

Benjamin Huang, whose laughter is infectious, and bochap-ness fun to watch.

Tay Zhi Ying, who is such a great organiser for events!

Duo Geng, for helping me when times look bleak.

Yiren, for his support and constant shushing when I try to talk to someone.

Giam, for all the help in the morning for English.

Nobel, for gossiping in class to make the class more... scandalous. lol.

Joey, for the kinder beuno and for being supportive.

Peh Sheng Kai, for being such a great friend for 8 years.

Hao Qin, for.. the experiences we had in secondary 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. Haha.

Gerald, Kok Ken and the other Malaysian Scholars who make this class so much more lively, and for all the help and laughter.

Jeremiah, for providing us the good looks. And the everlasting ego. ;D

Raymond Thien, for all the interludes from teachers scolding him for sleeping, which means that teachers would see him before they see me dozing off.

Leonard, Xue Ying and Jerome, the Scouts, for being so fun to be with for the past 2 years.

Siyang, for his lovely serenation in class constantly, together with Roysmond.

Lim Qian, who make stupid jokes to make the class alive, and for being the RI ambassador.

Teck Nam, for giving us some drama in class for the first part of the year by chasing Andy, who helped me a lot in homework!

And many many more...the list just goes on.

It extends all the way to my primary school life, my kindergarten life and my nursery life..is there a pre-nursery life?

*Will remember all of you forever!

(Maybe not by name XD)*
(From Facebook - Written by me.
Just in case you missed it.
Haha.
And I just noticed I actually posted it before.
Oh Well.)

Continuing with this post, we had a class gathering at Vivo City.
Couldn't join them in the morning at Sentosa due to my internship, and apparently it was fun-filled.
Well.
Thought I would be the latest to reach.
Well.
They arrived and we had loads of fun, and let the pictures do the talking!
When Yiren uploads them. =S
Anyway, I'd like to thank Nobel and Leonard.
For shopping with me for my farewell gifts for the people in my company.
Thanks! =)

4th Janaury 2010
Felt blissed today.
After Zhi Ler's persuasion, I decided to show my face at the chalet of my primary school class.
Met so many people, and so embarrassing...
I thought some of them were from the next class XP.
Well, I didn't see them for a long long time, and it's time for Garry Mag to "remind" them of my past.
Haha.
Thankfully Zhi Ler persuaded me (Thanks!), for otherwise I wouldn't get to meet them again.
They changed a lot from how I remembered them, and I was shocked to see my nemesis in primary school turned into a kinda-new-but-still-old person.
People became thinner now, haha, not like previously.
I ENJOYED The chalet trip =D!
Hopefully the pictures will be up soon!

P.S (3rd Janaury 2010)
Everytime I blog, I get kinda stuck with an idea for the title.
(Anyone met any teachers recently?)
Wonder who the discipline master/mistress is...
The only, and terrible, news I have is that Ms Saras left Photography Club.:(
(She's 2nd IC now)
Wonder how they are coping with the new TIC...
Didn't really receive much news from Catholic High School recently.

Hey by the way, O's results are coming out next week..
Kind of nervous.
However, I'm sure I'm not alone.

Good luck!

New Year's Eve
New Year, Morning
Worked half day.
I was surprised that I went out again to watch the fireworks.
Can't believe it.
I just knew I couldn't go watch the fireworks - The throngs of crowds was just terrible!
The next thing I knew, I found myself in the midst of crowds heading towards Marina.
Went at 10, walked to 11, waited for an hour. 11.40 some people started making noise as though as the fireworks started.
People started standing up.
Kinda funny to watch actually, people spontaneously and concurrently standing up...
12 came, and boom boom boom for 8 minutes.

It's 2010!

Liked this year's fireworks more than last year's, more spectacular.
Took some pics on my phone, surprised that they came out clear.
Will post soon.
No time to post it yet.
In the end, at 12.08 thereabout, we departed and walked towards the MRT station.
Police were guiding cars.
Police were guiding traffic.
Got stuck in Citylink mall - kinda reminded me of the checkpoint from Malaysia to Singapore, super congested.
Made mental note not to go next year, but what the heck.
01.00 we entered the MRT station.
Went to marina bay station to avoid the crowd.
What a stupid and idiotic idea.
Met some people from school.
Cousin asked if they were nerds.
Cousin told me someone looks perfectly normal out of the group (whom I'm surprised to hear her say).
Returned at 02.30 to home.
Perfectly fun day.
I almost forgot I wasn't feeling well.

Before that, we had lots of time.
Went to Thai express.
Didn't eat anything there - not feeling well and no appetite.
Ended up paying for my sister, who was broke.
Went to watch Old dogs.
Seats were better than Sherlock Holmes.
Row B.
Haha.
Quite funny.
To the least, it was nicer than Alvin and the Chipmunks 2
(I mean, people watch for the chipmunks right? If I were to sub those chipmunks for normal people, who will pay to watch?).
Not as good as Sherlock Holmes, perhaps also worse compared to Avatar.
People said it was cliche and terrible, but who cares?
